Hurray, the weekend has rolled in. Last night's First Friday in Downtown Greensboro was a little quiet. However, the Gate City Roller Girls were out in full force. Again, they rolled onto the scene when we least expected it and volunteered to pose for a photo. Founded in 2010,they are a fun-loving group of women are dedicated to athleticism and roller skating fun. They are part of Greensboro's first official Roller Derby League. This fast-paced, contact-team sport is fun for women of all ages. They practice at least three times a week and are up for a workout indoors or out.
We're sharing this with our friends at Weekend Reflection. Surely, you see the reflection on the knee pags as well as the vehicle. See our older photo of them here! If this weekend is nice, how about getting out for a little roller skating fun. Thing spring! We're posting this with weekend reflection. Look at that reflecting off of those knee pads and beyond! We hope to see these girls on Friday, April 1st when the Indie Market will return to First Friday!
Cool! You have wild things that we never see on the streets of Jerusalem.
Roll on!

A friend or ours just went to the Roller Girls match last night in St. Paul! I've got to get to one - they sounds like a fun time to watch!
