* We interrupt our allergies to bring you this photo.* Taken yesterday, precisely 48 hours after allergies kicked in, this scene reveals the culprit of our watery eyes and nasal congestion! These cherry trees on Green Valley Road at the eastern edge of Friendly Shopping Center are proof positive that we are out from under the throes of old man winter, and that spring is upon us. In an effort to situate the photo in Greensboro, we captured a little bit of Wesley Long Community Hospital in the background.
As we transition out of a week of 18th-century-inspired posts, we cannot help but recall the myth that as a child, George Washington, Commander in Chief during the Revolutionary War, reportedly chopped down a cherry tree with his new hatchet and admitted to doing so.
This is our contribution to Sky Watch Friday!
Hi!

Ah, bright cherry tree,
do you blossom just for me
or for crow and kite?

So pretty , so itchy!
The Jasmine vines and orange trees along with all the other plants that bloomed this week have me sneezing and coughing too.
Should settle down as soon as the wind stops blowing it all around!
Feel better, use soft tissue!
