This is a view in northwest Guilford County, a couple of mornings ago just before the sun rose. It has been an emotional week for us at Greensboro Daily Photo. With the opening of the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in downtown Greensboro we got help document and share a fabulous moment in time.
However, yesterday, our dear friend Alice Moore, frequent commenter on Greensboro Daily Photo, slipped into eternal sleep. Alice was a lifelong resident of East Greensboro, a photographer, historian, and Francophile. Alice provided us with much food for thought not only about Greensboro, but about life in general. She will be sorely missed as will her comments on this blog. This photo with its breathy, nebulous aura reminds us of her absence. If you could see souls dissipating, surely, this is what they would look like.
We're posting this photo on Sky Watch Friday and, if you follow our link, you can see hundreds of sky views from around the world...... somewhere, out there, is a warm, sunny day.
superbly composed and shot!

There's something about foggy photos! I think they're very special!
So sorry about your loss - good friends are not always easy to find. I think your words are very appropriate!

My First time here at your blog is very nice. Because I can say that yours is the best SKYWATCH photo this week for me! I really loved the soft blues, whites, and even a little bit of purple over the skies! And the Snowy Haze, A DREAM!!! Congratulations I have to say!
Mabuhay from Cavite Daily Photo, Philippines!

I think this blog is great. I like the way you write and the topics you deal with (human rights....). This photo is beautiful. Although there are no heavenly rays as you wrote (if I remember well), it also makes me think of what lies beyond the visible.Thank you for visiting my blog.

It's on our head line that there is a dumping of snow in the US, are you affected? The kids would be happy to have a day off if there is no school. Reminds me of winter 1976, when I was caught in a bliazzard in Canada.
