Flag-like, Striped Sky over Greensboro

The sky over Greensboro on Sunday, March 29th, 2009 was as spectacular as most Fourth of July shows! Near sunset, looking west, was a lifting cloud front and a clear horizon. Overhead, it was as if clouds were a slice of sandwich bread hovering above the city. To the east, the sky was a brilliant sapphire blue. By the time we got to a vista, not polluted by retail stores, the grand finale was the flag-like, striped sky seen above. 

We are thankful for Skywatch Friday for teaching us to be on the lookout for a good view of the sky.We are thankful for nature for providing beauty that outdoes even man's best efforts.  We hadn't planned to participate in Skywatch Friday every week but when nature is this spectacular, it is hard to resist!

Exactly like the stripes on a flag! Glad you caught this, but how frustrating it must have been to have had other potential shots hidden by buildings. Still, you can remember how the skies looked.
