Today, we honor mothers and their influence in the world. Mother's Day, as we know it today, was started in 1908 by Anna Jarvis, a West Virginian who graduated from Mary Baldwin College. Jarvis never married and never had children; so, indeed, the holiday was not self-serving but ia memorial to her mother. Above, we see a mother at the Easter event at Guilford College United Methodist Church doing what mother's do best. She is not only nurturing her child and keeping him safe, but also teaching him to be adventuresome and reach out for a new experience. A mother's touch builds memories, gives us courage, and teaches us restraint. If you are lucky enough to have a mother living, we hope you will recognize her. If not, there are plenty of moms out there who could use a little reconition. Greensboro is such a friendly city, we've overheard people right and left wishing mothers a happy Mother's Day. May your day be as delightful as was this young boy's day, at the moment he first touched llama wool.... right here in Greensboro, North Carolina; USA.
Today is world run day and you can be a part of it, right here in Greensboro. Read more here.

And a Happy Mother's Day to you, spectacular mother to two wonderful children.
