Indu Convenient Store is located at the Fanta City, the Triad's International Shopping Center at 4925 West Market Street. Fanta City is a large complex for ethnic goods, foods and activities from saris to Colombian coffee, bubble tea and rice to Tae Kwon Do. Approximately 3 years old, Fanta City is one-stop-shopping for many different ethnic groups. The complex is truly a pan-global conglomeration of cultures. Additionally, Fanta City is a place to gather with family and friends and holds many different meetings and events. The red roof, arched doorways, and light stucco walls remind us more of Florida or California than Greensboro.
We will feature other photos of Fanta City at a later time. Today, we chose this outdated calender at Indu Convenient Store to share with our Weekend Reflections friends and our friends over at Camera Critters (see the parrots?). The cars in the reflection were waiting patiently for Indu Convenient Store to open the day we were there! If you are from elsewhere, likely, you will feel a little nostalgia when walking through Fanta City!

I love Indian sweets and the ladies outfits are so beautiful and romantic! Very creative way to use your silhouette to help the light come out. The god-child appears in an aura of mystical lights and reflections.
Thank for visiting my new site. I did the web-design and the content by myself. My own place to vent and to rule :)

Very interesting photo, and an interesting post too. I love the reflections, each time I look I see more.

I would never have seen the parrot as I was so mesmerized with the photo of the doll. Great.

I think it was clever the way you used your own silhouette in your photo. Nice job.

This is a beautiful image picturing Lord Krishna when he was young. he is the God that is celebrated by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). He is supposed to have loved milk and milk products and here he is shown with his fingers in butter. He was also known to play the flute very well and in most of his pictures when he was young show him playing the flute leaning against a cow under a tree in the green fields of Benaras or Varanasi in India.

Thank you Magiceye from Mumbai Daily Photo for providing the much-needed details on this photo of a picture of Young Lord Krishna. One of the many nice things about being part of the City Daily Photo community is that participants are so generous with information. We have learned so much over our 13 months of participation!

Wonderfully different: a great concept, pleasantly weird name, and good image for reflection and critters :) That's very cool how the photographer's shadow haunts the image or supports it. There's plenty to wonder at here! I love the parrots.

It is a very pretty shot, love the reflection and the calendar.

I like how you placed yourself in the photo. There is a member of my religious community that says that the photographer is always in the picture - as the scene is seen through his/her eyes.

Hi, Jan! I love how you captured the subjects from behind and in front of the glass. Clever!
Thanks for visiting me. Warm greetings from FL. :)
